'Eating snake in China. Friends invited me in a restaurant located in Xintiandi, Shanghai, China which is an affluent car-free shopping, eating and entertainment district of Shanghai. This area has upscale shopping and nightlife venues in restored stone-gate (shikumen) buildings. The pedestrianized streets are home to flagship fashion brands as well as chic wine bars and pubs. Dining options include al fresco cafes and upscale European restaurants. Snake soup has been considered a delicacy in Chinese culture for over two thousand years. Pre-Qin\'s Shanhaijing recorded that inhabitants in Guangdong province started to consume snake soups; and the Snake eating culture was widely popularised in China at the end of Qing Dynasty. Now a days A new study found the virus may have originated in bats and then spread to humans via a snake or pangolin.
